Lamb Shank Red Wine and Rosemary Sauce by James Martin

Price: £6.30
A roasted lamb shank braised until the meat is ‘melt in the mouth tender’. The sauce is rich and smooth combining the natural lamb juices with red wine, a sprig of rosemary, mint and redcurrant. Deep honest flavours make this dish a favourite.
"This is just so easy for a dinner party. Just perfect served with well-seasoned creamy mash and crisp fresh vegetables. I like to lightly roast the shanks without the sauce prior to serving for best results." James Martin

Handling Instructions
Usage Guidelines:
Your meal comes in a pouch. It will arrive frozen. If you want to use your meal on the day, or over the next couple of days then store it in the refrigerator. The product can be re-heated directly from frozen however the best way is to let it fully defrost before reheating. If you are in a hurry it is possible to defrost the meal by placing it in a bowl of cold water to aid defrosting. It can also be defrosted gently in a microwave using the defrost programme on low power. If you want to keep your meal for later use then put it into the freezer where it can be stored up to the best before date printed on the pack. For best results defrost it in plenty of time as above when you want to use it, or reheat gently from frozen.
Reheating:
This product is fully cooked so you are only re heating to achieve service temperature. Our advice is to take your time, re heat slowly and gently to get the best result. The following are guidelines only as equipment will vary.
The meal is best reheated in a pan of simmering (not boiling) water. Simmer frozen for 12-15 minutes, from defrosted for 5-6 minutes. Alternatively, the product can be reheated in a microwave. From frozen, defrost gently first on low power or using the defrost programme, and then heat at higher power until service temperature is achieved, (850 watt microwave for 3-4 minutes). When reheating using a microwave stand the pouch in a microwavable bowl. Using a sharp pair of scissors snip the top corner of the pouch to enable any steam to escape. These are guidelines only, so please check your microwave instructions.
After reheating, the pouch will be hot. If reheating in water use a cloth or tongs to remove the pouch. Grip the pouch at the edge on opposite corners and shake gently to evenly mix the contents. Use a sharp knife or scissors to cut the pouch across the top and carefully tip out the contents to serve.
Serving Instructions:
Flash roast or grill the meat to achieve a crispy finish place on the service plate and then pour over the sauce from the pouch. This is perfect served with well seasoned buttery mashed potato and crisp seasonal vegetables.
